I finally started sewing the quilt...

It was at the beginning of August that I decided I wanted to make a quilt. And it's taken me the last two months to decide what I wanted to make, plan it out, get all the fabric together, and cut it up into squares. The cutting took forever. Yesterday I finally started actually sewing it! With my friends Chris and Julie. Chris has been quilting for 10 years, so he had all sorts of little time saving tricks to teach me. And I had no idea how much ironing is involved in quilting. I had no idea that you had to iron at all, actually. But you do. My quilt pattern is pretty simple: 4 squares sewn together to make a bigger square, and a bigger, light pink square, over and over. Here are the two 2x2 patterns that I'm using:

And an idea of my pattern:

The two stacks of fabric in the back will become my entire quilt. That's it, that's all it takes to make a 60 x 84" quilt.
