For my first ever blog post, I thought I'd explain where the title comes from. A long, long time ago I worked in a day care in Seattle. Most of the woman I worked with were from the Philippines and they all pronounced my name "Jenni-fair." I told Shawna, my BFF and roommate at the time, and she's called me that ever since. She's been so determined to make it stick, that she addresses all mail to me with that name, and several Christmases ago she gave me a subscription to Vanity Fair and gave them the name "Jennifair Elam." Even though I now pay for my own subscription, they still have me in their system under that name. I even get junk mail sometimes with that name on it. I hope I never get accused of having a fake identity...
